Quotient

Send B2B quotes buyers accept in one click — then turn them into draft orders.

Quoting is the part of wholesale Shopify leaves to your inbox. Quotient puts the whole loop — request, negotiated pricing, offer, acceptance, order — in your admin.

Why a discount code is not a quote

The usual workaround for wholesale pricing is a discount code, a price list, or a customer tag — all of which apply a rule to a catalog. A quote is the opposite: it is one agreement, with one buyer, on a specific set of line items and quantities, that expires. Rebuilding that from codes means the agreed number lives in an email thread while the store charges something derived from a rule, and the two drift. Quotient records the agreed per-unit price on the quote itself and carries that exact number into the draft order, so what the buyer accepted is what the store charges.

Offers that expire on their own

Every offer gets a deadline — you choose how many days — because pricing you quoted on old costs should not still be live three months later. Quotient shows how long each sent offer has left, warns the buyer before the deadline, and marks the offer expired when it passes so it can no longer be accepted. Nothing in the pipeline sits in an unknown state because someone forgot to follow up.

What it does and doesn't do

Quotient handles quoting: requests, offers, acceptance, and the draft order that comes out of it. It does not price your catalog, run a wholesale storefront, take payment, or do accounting — payment and fulfillment stay in Shopify where they belong.

Being honest about data, because a quote is about a person: to do its job the app reads your products and creates draft orders, and it reads and writes customers. It stores the company name, contact name and email address on each quote and application, along with the line items and status history. It does not touch payment card details, and it is never used for anything but the quoting features you installed it for. Uninstalling removes it from the store, and Shopify's shop/redact request deletes your store's data about 48 hours later. The privacy policy spells all of this out.

Price

Billed through Shopify in USD. An offer counts the month you send it.

  • Free. Quote requests, offer building and pricing, and up to 3 sent offers a month. No card, no trial clock.
  • Standard — $9.99/month, 14-day free trial. Unlimited priced offers, quote requests, client applications with an approval queue, the buyer accept page and draft-order conversion. Nothing is metered.

Cancel from your Shopify admin at any time; cancelling stops the charge at the end of the billing period.

Questions

Do buyers need a Shopify account to accept a quote?
No. The emailed quote link works without a login. A customer account is only involved if the buyer uses the in-account request form or you approve them through the application queue.

Does Quotient change my theme or checkout?
No. It runs in the admin and, optionally, as a customer-account extension. There are no theme edits or scripts.

Where does the margin number come from?
Every line shows the discount off list as you type. An estimated margin appears on lines that have a unit cost on record; lines without one show margin as unknown.

What happens when an offer expires?
It expires automatically after the number of days set in Settings, and the buyer is reminded before the deadline. An expired offer can no longer be accepted; you can send a fresh offer from the same quote.

Is there a free plan, and is there a limit on offers?
Yes. The Free plan is $0 and includes quote requests, offer building and up to 3 sent offers a month. Standard is $9.99 per month with a 14-day free trial and unlimited sent offers; there are no per-offer or per-quote charges.

What buyer data is stored?
The company, contact name, email, and the quote lines they requested or accepted. Quotient honors Shopify's customer data and erasure requests, and uninstalling deletes everything the app holds for your store.
